Best parks for kids in London

London is a great place for kids as there are so many attractions and activities to keep them occupied during the week and at weekends. One thing that London has that most other cities don’t is a plethora of outdoor and green spaces, notably large parks. In this guide, we look at some of the best parks in London that are perfect for kids of all ages. From exploring amazing playgrounds to visiting animals at the zoo, we talk about it all in this guide.

Hyde Park

Hyde Park is the best-known park in London and is one of the biggest covering 350 acres and is home to lakes, meadows, horse riding areas and a playground. The large playground is suitable for kids up to the age of 12 and features climbing frames, swings and slides. Alternatively, Hyde Park is a great location for ball games, a runaround or kite flying to burn off some extra energy.

Green Park

Green Park is located right in the heart of London, opposite Buckingham Palace and near many famous London attractions. Although there is no playground in Green Park, there is a huge area of grass that is perfect for kids who want to run in the sun. The park is also perfect for a picnic, and deck chairs are dotted around the park for public use.

Regent’s Park

Regent’s Park is a bustling mecca in London and is not only a park but is home to ZSL London Zoo, a boating lake, Queen Mary’s Garden and much more. The attractions at Regent’s Park can fill a whole day, and it is the perfect park to keep kids occupied. Start the day by visiting the animals at ZSL and finish the day enjoying an ice cream whilst wandering around Queen Mary’s Garden.
