Easter is just around the corner and on top of the events that are planned and the chocolate eggs that you receive, baking sweet treats for Easter is a hugely popular pastime to do during this time of the year.

Mini egg chocolate cake
This is a chocolate sponge that’s covered in chocolate sauce and mini chocolate eggs. It is the perfect celebration cake for Easter and is easy to make.
After you’ve made the cake, for the topping you just need to melt chocolate and butter in a bowl over a pan of simmering water and once it is melted, you just need to stir it gently until smooth. Once the sauce has been cooled, you can pour the topping over the cake, letting it dribble over the edges. You can then arrange the chocolates and eggs on top of the cake and leave it to sit for around 30 minutes.
The preparation time and cooking time takes around an hour and this cake makes 12 servings.

Giant Easter Cornflake Cake with Mini Eggs
There are not many better Easter-themed treats than mini cornflake nests, but a giant one filled with mini eggs certainly is one. Cornflakes covered in milk chocolate and dark chocolate is a perfect treat to make for any Easter celebration.
You can make it so it is entirely dark chocolate or milk chocolate, and this giant cornflake cake uses the same process that you would use to make chocolate Easter nests. The cake is really quick and fun to make and you can involve children in the process of making it by getting them to help melt the chocolate and mixing in the cornflakes.
If you prefer mini cornflake nests, then you just need to divide up the cornflake mixture in cupcake cases.

Mini egg cupcakes
One of the most popular treats for this time of the year are cupcakes that are topped with icing and mini eggs. Whilst there are so many different types of mini egg cupcakes that you can make, from vanilla sponge cupcakes to carrot cake, the most popular type is chocolate mini egg cupcakes.
These delicious cupcakes are created using chocolate of your choice, cocoa powder, flour, sugar, bicarbonate of soda, vegetable oil, eggs and vinegar. Usually, these mini egg cupcakes take around 25-minutes to cook.
If you are making the cakes for a gathering, then you can prepare them ahead of time. The iced cakes will keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.

This classic treat has been slightly altered to give it an Easter twist as the rice crispy and marshmallow base is topped with mini eggs, marshmallows and crème eggs.
This is a simple Easter treat to make and is one that children will love making as well. You can make these types of rocky road treats in around 30-minutes.

Another guaranteed hit is the Easter Egg Tiffin. Tiffins are not just a delicious treat, but it is a great way of using up leftover dried fruit, biscuits and nuts so you can try to experiment with lots of different combinations when you come to make yours.
Adding mini eggs to the top of the tiffin is a great way to give it an Easter theme. This treat takes around 35 minutes to prepare and 30 minutes to cook, so it is something that you can quickly prepare if you are looking to bake an Easter treat.
